QUALITY DENTISTRY

At the Amritsar Dental Clinic Dental Clinic we believe in quality dentistry. We follow strict Instrument sterilization protocols and use the latest and best dental materials available in the business today, so you know always that you are getting the best treatment money can buy at a fraction of the cost you would pay back home.

1. Sterilization , Cleanliness and Disposable Materials:-

Surgery Upkeep:-

We have dental chairs in each of our surgeries. At the beginning of the day the floors are thoroughly scrubbed with scented Phenol which leaves the place clean and smelling fresh. All carpeted/non carpeted areas are meticulously cleaned with a high power vacuum cleaner to get all the dust mites out and prevent air borne infections if any. The chairs and all moving/rotating parts are sprayed with antiseptic solution and wiped clean with a soft cloth. After every patient the same procedure is followed for the chairs to prevent cross infection.

Instrument Sterilization:-

All instruments are thoroughly washed in antiseptic solutions and wiped clean. They are the packaged into sterile pouches and vacuum sealed to prevent contamination. The instruments are then placed into a digital autoclave and autoclaved at 121 degrees. At this temperature all known disease causing bacteria are known to be killed.

Disposable materials: We use a fresh, new pair of gloves for every patient that is disposed off immediately after the treatment is completed. All gloves are torn as well so there is no question of whether any of them were ever used before. This is all done in front of every patient . In addition we use disposable masks, suction tips and plastic glasses. All local anesthetic is given from sealed syringes that are opened in front of you and disposed off immediately after treatment. Dentists and patients mandatory wear glasses during tooth whitening procedures to prevent any harm to the eyes. We also use bottled water for rinsing your mouth during procedures.

2. Impression Materials, Temporization and Delivery Schedules:-

Impression Materials:-

The mark of quality dentistry today lies in your dental technicians seeing exactly how your prepared teeth look like on the model that you prepare. A good impression is the only way to exactly duplicate what is present in the mouth . A mistake at this step can be critical to the outcome of your case. Its important to note that the lab never sees the patient but the model that you prepare. If you do not replicate the oral tissues properly the chances of your dental lab giving you poor quality work that has poor fit is as high as 80%. The best in dentistry today is Rubber Base Impression Material, commonly known as the putty and wash procedure. In our surgeries we use a product called " Aquasil " from Dentsply widely acclaimed to be the best and most expensive impression material in the market.

Temporization:-

It simply means a temporary crown or prosthesis. Anyone with a previous experience of having either a crown/bridge or veneer will know that in the time it takes for the dentist to give you the new crown/bridge/veneer you will have temporary caps , so you can carry on your daily routine without any major discomfort and embarrassment , specially if its your front teeth being crowned or bridged. Many of our patients have complained of their previous experience of unsightly temporary crowns that caused them major embarrassment in the days that it takes for the dentist to fit the final permanent crowns. In our surgeries temporary crowns are custom made with " Composite Resin " commonly know as the material for " Lazer fillings ". This is the same material that we use for permanent fillings that we give as temporary crowns. So what is the advantage of doing this .... For starters we will hand build up the tooth to look it was never prepared for a crown. The shade you have selected for your crowns will be used so you have a good idea of what color and shape of your teeth will look like when the final porcelain crown comes in. We use a temporary cement called " Temp lute " from 3M to cement temporary crowns so you can eat normally after the procedure.
